PPSOL Co., Ltd. (CEO Park Kwan-dong) announced that it will participate in the ‘Drone Show Korea 2’ held at BEXCO, Busan from February 23rd (Thursday) to 25th (Saturday).

PPSOL, a GPS and GNSS specialist, provides GPS receivers with various functions and GPS utilization solutions. Since its establishment, more than 30 government research and development projects in the GPS field have been carried out, including the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport’s digital national information technology development project currently in progress. In addition, we supply high-precision receivers and antennas as an official domestic dealer for JAVAD in the U.S. and Tallysman in Canada, leading GPS equipment companies, and as a domestic reseller for Septentrio in Belgium.

RTK2U and RTAP2U will be exhibited at this exhibition. RTK2U and RTAP2U are lightweight receivers within 5cm and 8cm, respectively, and have the advantage of centimeter-level accuracy and a short initial convergence time of within a few seconds. The official explained that there is a free interface provided and technical support is also provided.

A PPSOL official said, “We launched the RTK receiver RTAP2020U in October 10, and as purchases by drone companies increased, we collected feedback and developed RTK2U optimized for mounting drones and small moving vehicles in 2022. RTK2U is not only lighter and smaller than RTAP2U, but also has the advantage of being interoperable with drone FCs such as Pixhawk through UART and USB interfaces through connectors.”

He continued, “RTAP2U and RTK2U apply u-blox’s ZED-F9P module to provide a fast convergence time of less than a few seconds and an accuracy of about 1 to 2 cm. “You can check and set satellite signal reception status, coordinates, skyplot, etc. with the mobile interface developed by our company,” he added.

RTAP2U was certified as an innovative product by the Public Procurement Service in 2022, and signed a contract with the Daejeon Metropolitan City Fire Department, Seoul Metropolitan Government, and the Korea Land and Land Information Corporation’s Spatial Information Research Institute through the Public Procurement Service’s innovative product pilot purchase project. Each organization uses it to support 119 rescue activities, guide services for vulnerable pedestrians, and manage cadastral reference points.

In addition, RTAP2U and RTK2U are simple RTK receivers that are used in various LBS (Location Based Services) such as drones, autonomous vehicles, buses, field workers, heavy equipment, and logistics monitoring. In addition, by achieving sales results in Japan, Germany, Croatia, and Australia, PPI Sol is also challenging the global market for RTK precision positioning.

An official said, “By participating in the Drone Show Korea, the largest event held in Korea, we would like to introduce Ppi Sol’s GPS RTK receiver to the RTK drone market that requires precise location. When we first participated in the Drone Show Korea in 2022, we introduced the RTK receiver to potential buyers and were also able to understand the current status of drone development. “Because the effect of participating in 2022 was great, we decided to participate in 2023 as well,” he said.

Additionally, future plans were also announced. An official said, “An upgraded version of RTAP2U’s SSR positioning will be released. u-blox’s SSR positioning PointPerfect service, which began service in Korea in September 2022, can be applied. “The PPP-RTK function for applying SSR correction information can be used with a simple firmware update.”

He then expressed his ambition, saying, “PPSOL, comprised of GPS and GNSS experts, seeks to contribute to the development of domestic advanced satellite navigation technology in line with the demand for high-precision location information market, which is expected to grow within the next 10 years.”

Meanwhile, the exhibit items of the 2023 Drone Show Korea, hosted by the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy, the Ministry of Science and ICT, the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport, the Ministry of National Defense, and Busan Metropolitan City, and hosted by BEXCO and the Korea Unmanned Aerial System Association are as follows. △Manufacturing (drone, military, UAM/AAM, surveying, mapping, firefighting, station, unmanned robot, leisure, broadcasting) △Utilizing industry (photography, control, spatial information, logistics, disaster management, security, reconnaissance, construction, deep sea exploration) Etc.) △Parts and technology (communication, ground control, autonomous flight, system and S/W technology, fuel cell sensor, motor, battery, etc.) △Service (education, finance, rental, insurance, investment consulting, etc.) △ Institutions (related institutions, associations/organizations, universities)
