    Gwangju Metropolitan City Mayor Kang Ki-jeong travels to the United States to participate in CES… “We will support Gwangju companies and build a global network!”

    Gwangju Metropolitan City Mayor Kang Ki-jeong left the country on the 4th to participate in ‘CES 2023’, the world’s largest home appliance and IT exhibition. The Gwangju delegation, including Mayor Kang, plans to visit Las Vegas and Silicon Valley in the U.S. for 9 days and 6 nights until the 12th to conduct ‘Gwangju Sales’. 

    CES, hosted by the Consumer Technology Association (CTA), is a large exhibition where you can see the trends of future technologies such as smart home appliances, 5G, AI, IoT, healthcare, and automobile technology at a glance. On the 4th (local time), Mayor Kang will sign a business agreement with ESTV at the ESTV Studio in Las Vegas to jointly host an e-sports global competition.

    Next, the ‘CES 2023’ event will be observed from the 5th to the 7th. In particular, on the 5th, we plan to attend the opening ceremony of the ‘Gwangju Joint Brand Promotion Center’ to tour the products of participating companies and conduct investment attraction activities.

    The products showcased at the Gwangju joint brand promotion center include a wall-mounted air purifier from DK Co., Ltd., an air purifier from Bentech Frontier Co., Ltd., a far-infrared heater windless fan from 3H Goods Co., Ltd., an intelligent smart home real-time monitoring system from Ideas Co., Ltd., and a sterilizing dryer from Icon Co., Ltd. There are a total of 14 products from 8 companies, including TIP International’s vehicle air purifier, Hyunsung Autotech’s artificial intelligence cooker, and EDM’s vehicle air purifier.

    Starting on the 8th, we will begin activities to expand our global network in San Francisco. Mayor Kang plans to meet with Silicon Valley artificial intelligence experts on the 8th to listen to the current status of Silicon Valley startups and discuss support measures for domestic artificial intelligence startups to advance and settle overseas. Also, on the 9th, they plan to visit Google and UC Berkeley and sign a business agreement with Rising Tide Fund (RTF), an innovative Silicon Valley company.

    On the 10th, the last day, we will hold a meeting with Altos Ventures, a global investment company, to identify global investment trends, create an investment environment for artificial intelligence startups in Silicon Valley, and discuss ways to build and collaborate with global VCs before returning home. 

    Meanwhile, ‘CES’, the world’s largest IT exhibition, is an exhibition where you can understand the trends of the global home appliance industry at a glance. Hosted by the Consumer Technology Association (CTA), it is held every January in Las Vegas, USA.
