GS E&C participated in the ‘Drone Show Korea 2’ held at BEXCO, Busan from February 23rd (Thursday) to 25th (Saturday) with the ‘UAM Future Team’ consortium.
UAM Future Team is a consortium formed through cooperation between GS E&C, LG U+, Kakao Mobility, and Pablo Airlines. At this Drone Show Korea, they set up an exhibition booth with an area of 320㎡, the largest among participating companies, and introduced the future vision of UAM services envisioned by the UAM Future Team and the next-generation urban transportation paradigm to dominate the Korean UAM market.
The exhibition hall includes the consortium joint hall, as well as GS E&C’s eco-friendly, modular, smart Vertiport (Vertiport) vision, LG U+’s UAM traffic management system, Kakao Mobility’s multi-modal mobility vision, and Pablo Airlines. It consists of five spaces where you can experience the UAM integrated flight control system.
GS E&C physically implemented the UAM Vertiport passenger terminal at the exhibition booth and also prepared a virtual reality (VR) experience space, allowing visitors to the booth to automatically check-in and walk through the UAM Vertiport. We have prepared for you to have a vivid experience similar to actual boarding check-in, including security screening.
GS E&C signed an ‘MOU (Memorandum of Understanding) for the early commercialization of UAM’ with Busan City in July last year and a phase 7 agreement for the ‘K-UAM Grand Challenge demonstration project’ with the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport on the 22nd with the UAM Future Team consortium.
Accordingly, GS E&C plans to secure competitiveness in the UAM business by developing an ‘end-to-end Vertiport solution’ that encompasses site selection, design, construction, and operation of UAM Vertiport. In addition, we plan to focus on the successful commercialization of the domestic UAM industry through close cooperation with companies and organizations with specialized technology.
A GS E&C official said, “UAM linked to ground mobility is expected to go beyond the simple three-dimensional expansion of transportation and lead to innovation in urban space, emerging as a key element of future urban planning and development.” He added, “Building UAM ground infrastructure.” “Pushing forward and cooperating with UAM projects is important not only to explore new businesses and operations, but also to enter the smart city market as a developer,” he said.
