Kakao Mobility, along with the ‘UAM Future Team’ consortium, participated in the ‘Drone Show Korea 2’ held at BEXCO, Busan from February 23rd (Thursday) to 25th (Saturday).
UAM Future Team is a consortium formed through cooperation between LG U+, GS E&C, Kakao Mobility, and Pablo Airlines. At this Drone Show Korea, they set up an exhibition booth with an area of 320㎡, the largest among participating companies, and introduced the future vision of UAM services envisioned by the UAM Future Team and the next-generation urban transportation paradigm to dominate the Korean UAM market.
The exhibition hall includes the consortium joint hall, as well as GS E&C’s eco-friendly, modular, smart Vertiport (Vertiport) vision, LG U+’s UAM traffic management system, Kakao Mobility’s multi-modal mobility vision, and Pablo Airlines. It consists of five spaces where you can experience the UAM integrated flight control system.
After collaborating with UAM aircraft manufacturer Volocopter to commercialize services and forming a win-win relationship with Busan City to create an ecosystem, Kakao Mobility is participating in the ‘K-UAM Grand Challenge’ demonstration project hosted by the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport.
In this exhibition, Kakao Mobility provided a three-dimensional journey experience encompassing land and air based on the complete mobility-as-a-service (MaaS) platform ‘Kakao T’. For a realistic experience of future mobility, we explored the user-customized integrated itinerary and demonstrated the entire process of calling mobility services such as UAM and self-driving vehicles, and even achieving automatic check-in by stably linking the navigation and traffic control system and platform.
In addition, ‘ARGOS Air’, which builds a digital twin to be used in UAM route and vertiport design, and ‘autonomous vehicle mobility IVI (in-vehicle infotainment) service’, which allows you to check the autonomous driving route and UAM check-in status in advance. It was also possible to experience it.
Jang Seong-wook, head of Kakao Mobility’s Future Mobility Research Institute, said, “Kakao Mobility plans to increase the completeness of UAM commercialization by securing service accessibility for users and providing a multi-modal mobility vision through advanced data storage and platform operation know-how.” He added, “In the future, operational autonomy and “We expect to be able to provide ‘on-demand’ services by further enhancing openness and incorporating our own routing technology.”
